A 21-year-old Fall River man is in custody after abducting his ex-girlfriend and her child from their Dartmouth home, authorities said.
Jeremias Cabral took Grayson Benson and his mother Hannah Benson from their home at 1143 Tucker Road in Dartmouth around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, Massachusetts State Police report.
Initial investigation suggests that Cabral took the baby after the couple got into a fight and he showed a knife, State Police said. Hannah then followed Cabral to his vehicle before he drove off. It is unclear if Cabral is Grayson's father.
The trio was last seen inside a dark colored Mitsubishi Lancer sedan bearing Massachusetts license plate 2LPT35, State Police said. Authorities later located all three individuals at a address in Fall River where Cabral was taken in custody and Hannah and Grayson where being evaluated.
